Are American action films popular in China?

American action films have become increasingly popular in China in recent years, particularly in the post-2008 era of Chinese cinema. The success of Hollywood blockbusters such as The Avengers series and the Fast & Furious franchise has been instrumental in driving this growth. Chinese audiences are particularly drawn to the special effects, visuals, and fast-paced action of American action films. As a result, these films have become the second most popular genre in Chinese cinemas, behind only domestic Chinese films. This has led to increased collaboration between Hollywood and Chinese studios, creating greater opportunities for both Chinese and American actors and filmmakers.
